Fred Keith Sparks Sr., 64, passed away at 11 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in Wood River.
He was born on January 30, 1959, in Carpenter, IL to his father, the late Fred Kenneth and Genevieve Sparks, and surviving mother, Ruth McGowan of Alton, IL.
Fred was a service truck driver for St. Louis Auto Auction for 30 years, retiring in 2023. His interests included sitting on the floor while playing on the computer, riding motorcycles, racing, fishing, and spending quality time with family and friends. Particularly, he cherished going out to eat with his children.
Fred is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Cynde D. Eller of Wood River, IL; children, Crystal Boone of Madison, IL, Amanda Sparks of South Roxana, IL, Misty (Jason) Grether of South Roxana, IL, Fred (Amanda) Sparks Jr. of Bethalto, IL, Lettica Eller of Wood River, IL, Allison (James) Mitchell of Willow Springs, MO, and David Eller of Inman, SC; 18 grandchildren, Dillon, Hannah, Trevor, Russ, Haley, Keith, Ryan, Dianna, Connor, Madison, Lyndon, Tristan, Trinity, Ashtyn, Isabella, Brayden, Rose, and Uriah; 8 great-grandchildren, Greysen, Sophia, Colton, Gracelynn, Jamison, Landon, Brendan, and Dean; and siblings, Debbie (Matt) Gwyn, Samson (Vicky) Sparks, Tracy (Laura) Sparks, Loretta Sparks, and Penny (Dennis) Krause.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Fred and Genevieve; the mother of his children, Gloria Sparks; and son-in-law, Rusty Boone.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 3 pm until time of service at 6pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
