Jerry C. Turner, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his residence.
He was born in Summerset, Kentucky on January 13, 1940 to the late Ervin and Pearl (Crouch) Turner and graduated with the Class of 1959 from Granite City High School.
He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, and retired as a Machinist with The Boeing Corporation.
Jerry was a true “mans man”. He was a golden glove boxer, served as a volunteer fireman and enjoyed spending time outdoors boating, fishing, hunting and thoroughly enjoyed his cross country motorcycle trips.
Surviving are three children and their spouses, Jeff and Stacey Turner of Fieldon, Troy and Linda Turner of Collinsville and Laura and Ron Hindman of Dover, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother and sister in-law, Paul and Paula Turner of Mitchell; a sister and brother in-law, Helen and Phillip Hickman of Edwardsville; as well as his former spouse and mother of his children, Diana Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Turner.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fieldon.
