Betty Elizabeth Strelow, 91, passed away at 5:15 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Edwardsville Care Center in Edwardsville, IL.
She was born on August 28, 1932, in Waupun, WI, the daughter of John and Emma (Schaurs) Tamminga.
She was married to Rollie Phipps until his passing. She then married Mark C. Strelow on Decemeber 20, 1986 at Gardenville Community Church and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1921.
Betty worked as the secretary to Arthur Anderson. She had graduated from Grace Bible College.
Betty is survived by two sisters and their spouses, Dorothy (Kenneth) Weidner of Wisconsin, and Minnie (Don) Weffeld of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mark; she is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Andrew Tamminga.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home 13113 W. Delmar Ave. Godfrey, IL 62035.
She will be buried with her husband in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
