Teresa Lynne

Alton 03/19/2024

Teresa "Terri" Lynne, 61, passed the morning of Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born on January 3rd, 1963, in Alton, she was the daughter of Maurice "Mo" and Frances "Fran" (Vicari) Chappell. Surviving are Brad Toussaint, with whom she had a long-lasting relationship for over 15 years, her three children, Jacki Schranck (Stephen) of St. Louis, MO, Jake Grossheim of Godfrey, and Myah Grossheim of Chesterfield, MO, and two grandchildren, Josephine "JoJo" and Vincent "Vinnie" Schranck. Also surviving are two brothers, Tom Chappell (Sue) of Alton, Mike Chappell (Kim) of Columbia, MO, and two sisters, Tracey Sankey (Kevin) of Warrenton, MO, and Jane Hale (Mark) of O'Fallon, one aunt, Rosalind Noll "Aunt Ro" and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Terri grew up in Alton and attended St. Matthew's grade school followed by Marquette Catholic High School, where she was the 1980 Homecoming Queen! She has many lifelong friends from her time at Marquette that she cherished, especially her "Marquette Besties". Terri went on to Millikin University where she studied Biology and then Northwestern University where she achieved her Physical Therapy degree. Terri was a physical therapist for over 40 years primarily in skilled nursing facilities. She poured her heart, soul, and countless hours into her patients and coworkers. Her relentless (stubborn) personality suited her well as a PT; she could convince any patient to go for a "short walk" with her, which would often turn into a great PT session. She made many dear friends throughout her career and enjoyed her time with them in and out of the clinic. When she wasn't working hard, Terri loved being outdoors; you could often find her camping and boating with her family and friends or hosting a pool party in her backyard. She had a work hard/ play hard mentality, and whatever she was doing, she gave it her all. Her love for her family was unsurmountable, she was always there to guide her children without judgment, being their biggest cheerleader or shoulder to cry on when needed. She is irreplaceable and will never be forgotten. Terri was an avid Dolly Parton fan, so in the words of Dolly, "I will always love you".  In honor of Terri's memory, her family will be hosting a visitation on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Chrisitan burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25th, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or consider donating blood in her honor. Additional information and online guest book may be found at http://www.gentfuneralhome.com.
