Don graduated from Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto in 1965 and received his BA from Western Illinios University in 1969. Don loved God and treasured time with his family. He had a passion for playing Pinochle with his family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Don cherished his years of coaching Khoury League baseball in Bunker Hill for Matthew and his classmates from first grade through high school. To this day, he is known as Coach Don or Uncle Don. He is a lifelong Lutheran belonging currently to Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, where he served as head usher of his team and a counter.
