
Lori Lynn File, age 67 of Greenville, passed away in a vehicle accident Friday, December 6, 2024, near Mulberry Grove, Illinois.
A private funeral is being held at the Donnell–Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The family welcomes friends at the First Christian Church Family Life Center Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2-4 p.m.

Lori Lynn, the daughter of Dale and Ann (Larimer) Smith, was born December 27, 1956, in Highland, Illinois.
Lori grew up in Barry and Greenville, attended and graduated from Greenville High School. She got her LPN degree and worked at Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Lori went back to college, attending Kaskaskia College where she graduated with a degree in nursing and became a registered nurse.
For over 25 years, Lori used her skills as a Correctional RN-2 at Graham Correctional. She retired in 2008. Mark and Lori enjoyed traveling in their retirement and making a second home in Florida. They have attended the Greenville First Christian Church.
Lori and Mark E. File were united in marriage on May 24, 1975. They have enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage. They are the parents of Julie Gruen and husband Bill of Edwardsville, and loving grandmother to Nathaniel and Dominic Gruen.
Lori loved spending time with family and friends, especially her mother and grandsons. She loved playing guitar and was an avid water skier, scuba diver, and photographer. Her passion for diving is reflected through thousands of photos of fish, sharks, reefs, and the world underwater.
Lori is also survived by her two brothers: Steve (Karen) Smith of Greenville and Chris (Andrea) Smith of Missouri, her loving mother and best friend Ann Smith and a host of relatives and dear friends that are like family.
