Dennis Ray Hunt, 71, of Belleville, IL, was born February 26, 1953, in East St. Louis, IL, and passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Dennis was a United States Air Force veteran who dedicated his life to service and family. After retiring from the military, he earned his MBA and built a successful career in the finance industry.
Outside of work, Dennis pursued his passion for trading stocks, following the markets daily for enjoyment. An avid fantasy football enthusiast, he relished the camaraderie and friendly competition it brought.
Dennis also had a deep interest in current events and politics, staying informed and engaging in thoughtful discussions. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, who brought him immense joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hunt; and his mother, Geraldine, nee Alvers, Griffith.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen Hunt, nee Mercurio; his children, Mathew Hunt and Laura Ludwig; two grandchildren, Jacob Ludwig and Kathryn Ludwig; his sister, Diane (Randy) Cook; his brother, Russell (Kelly) Hunt; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends to gather and honor his memory.
