Timothy "T.J., Timmy John, Timmy" J. Campbell, 71, of Bethalto, passed away on Tuesday, December 31,2024, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Alton, IL, the son of John J. and Barbara Ann (Avramovich) Campbell. Timothy married Donna M. Scott on March 12, 1977, at St. Kevin's Catholic Church in Rosewood Heights. She survives.
Timothy worked for Marine Systems as the Midwest regional sales manager until his retirement in 2020. Timothy was well known and respected in the industry. If he did not have an answer for a customer, he would search and find it. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.
He was an avid golfer and loved to play with his "Rat Pack" of friends. He was ready at a moments notice to sub in leagues with his friends and nephews. His favorite golf partners were his wife and son. Timothy also enjoyed Sunday night poker with "The Dogs." A few other favorites for him were watching Star Wars, Deadpool, and Saturday Night Live with his son.
He had a gift of being able to converse with any walk of life, making them feel comfortable. During any conversation with Timothy, you had his undivided attention. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
It is impossible to sum up Timothy's life and the impact he had on those who knew him in a few paragraphs.
Along with his wife, Donna, he is survived by his son, Kellen S. Campbell; his siblings, Ron (Kerry) Campbell, Kathy (Ron) Boucher, Christine Gray, Bobbi Campbell, Lisa Campbell, and Kirk Campbell; a brother and sister-in-law, David (Bunnie) Scott; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital "Because children should not have cancer!" and/or Wounded Warriors Project to "take care of our veterans."
