Zona May Dodd, 76, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on September 6, 1948, in Alton, IL, to Robert Barnett and Patricia May (Brown) Wohlert.
Zona was a devoted mother, spending much of her life raising her children. She was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church and had a deep love for animals.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dawn (Jerry) Cooley, Shawn (Joe) Yates, and son, Anthony (Heather) Dodd. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brianna (Matt) Lovelace, Brooke (Chris) Webb, Nick Yates, Konor (Chelsey) Yates, Zachary Dodd, and Chase Dodd. She leaves behind great-grandchildren: Karlee Yates, Autumn Retherford, Kai Lovelace, Tommie Lovelace, and two more on the way. Brother, Phillip (Sherry) Wohlert.
Zona was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Madson, her parents, and sister, Roberta Vandalia.
Visitation will be held on February 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Funeral services will take place on February 22, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL. with Rev. Steve Pace officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
