Joanne A. Hamberg, 75, died Monday, February 10, 2025 at South Baldwin Health Center in Foley, Alabama.
Born July 20, 1949 in Alton, she was the daughter of Overton and Mildred (Townsend) Timmermeier.
Mrs. Hamberg was a homemaker and a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton.She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them every Sunday. She also enjoyed painting and traveling.
On August 23, 1968 she married Carl E. Hamberg in Alton.He survives.
Also surviving are six children, Toni Hamberg-Schenato (Michael) of Bunker Hill, Catherine Hamberg of Eldred, IL, and Mary LaGarce (Brian) of Grafton, Mark Hamberg (Jennifer) of Alton, Michael Hamberg (Casey) of Alton, and Ted Hamberg (Lindsey) of Alton, 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.She is also survived by a brother, Frank Timmermeier of Alton, and two sisters, Therese Stewart of Georgia and Marie Unnerstall (Richard) of Washington, MO.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl A. Hamberg.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton.Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
