Roy Herbert Lee Haug, 83, died at 3:44 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
He was born September 16, 1941 in Alton, the son of the late Herbert M. and Leona (Pohlman) Haug. Roy retired from Shell Oil Company where he worked as an instrument technician.
On November 23, 1963 in Alton, he married Patsy Pinkerton, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Brad Haug and his wife Dr. Kim (Gibbons) Haug of Godfrey and Brian Haug and his wife Shari of Elmhurst, IL and five grandchildren, Brennan Haug, Kailin Hudson (Bryan), Brayden Haug, Evan Haug and Riley Haug.
Roy’s children and grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Jane Karlas.
Roy was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. His riches were measured in time: he had time for his wife, family, and friends and was always present when he was with you.
When you saw him out, he was always with his wife, Pat. They were such a great team and together set an amazing example of love, family, and fun. He greatly enjoyed golf and looked forward to his Tuesday game with his close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Rolling Hills Golf Club in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (in honor of his daughter-in-laws’ mothers) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
