Rose M. Flagg, 86, of Alton, IL, passed away peacefully in her home on May 16th, 2023. As per her wishes, a private service was held, and she was laid to rest next to her loving husband at All Saints Cemetery in St. Peters, MO.
She was a parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Alton, IL. She never faltered when proclaiming her faith. She was humble and kind, living by the Golden Rule, while touching many lives. She valued God, photographs, memories, music, and art.
Born on February 6th, 1937, in East St. Louis, IL, to Clarence & Grace (Andres) Tracy, Rose bore five children from her first marriage: James Lloyd Sherrell, Rodney Steven Sherrell, Glen Allen Sherrell (who preceded her in death), Vicky Lynn Schlueter, and Billy (Joe) Sherrell. She was blessed with 12 Grandchildren and, as she phrased it, "More Greats than she could count."
Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She married her Knight in Shining Armor, Nelson R Flagg, on March 16th, 1978. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Rose was a painter of lovely landscapes, an avid gardener, poet, and wonderful homemaker. She took great pride in listening to her sons perform music while she beautifully sang along. Her family is beyond grateful that she gracefully remained independent, doing the things she loved until her death. Today, we rejoice that she is with her Lord and loved ones who passed before her, and we mourn her voice and wisdom.
It's been 2 years since you left, Mom, and we miss you. Forever in our loving memory.
