
Wilma D. Abner, 85, of Moro, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Christian Northeast Hospital.
She was born in Cottage Hills, on September 22, 1939, the daughter of Elzie Musgrove and Viola (Hardesty) Musgrove. She married Robert C. Abner on January 29, 1959. He preceded her in death in August of 2005.
Wilma graduated from Wood River High School. She was a member of Cottage Hills Baptist Church. Wilma enjoyed going to yard sales and shopping at Goodwill. She also loved flower and doing yard work, as well as going to Arbor Days. A favorite place to visit for her was Branson. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Abner of Moro; two sisters, Phyllis Riley of Jerseyville and Diane Cole of Godfrey; and three nephews, Kevin Pierson of Bethalto, Mark Coffman of Oklahoma, and Bill Coffman of Wood River.
Along with her parents and husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Abner; a sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Joe Pierson; two nephews, Keith Pierson, and Greg Pierson; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Riley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
