Myra L. Anderson, 88, died Friday, May 11, 2012 in Northville, Michigan. Born March 7, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Carey and Katherine (Barclay) Wright. She was a substitute teacher for the Alton School District and later became a teacher assistant in the St. Louis County Special School District. She was a member of the Upper Alton Baptist Church. On July 7, 1945 in Collingdale, PA, she married Reverend Orrin M. Anderson. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2005. Surviving is a daughter, Elaine Hovey and her husband James of Plymouth, Michigan, two sons, Lief Anderson and his wife Diane of Alton, and Erick Anderson of Godfrey, six grandchildren, Matt Anderson, Renee Anderson, Colin Anderson, Kara Abel and her husband Ben, Nicole Beatty and her husband Tim, and Gretchen Andridge and her husband Mike, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Earle Barclay Wright. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Upper Alton Baptist Church. Reverend Brad Donoho will officiate. Burial will be private at Upper Alton Cemetery.
