Scott “Bubba” Simmons, 48 passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
He was born on February 7, 1964 in Alton, IL, the son of Maurice “Moe” and Barbara (Landreth) Simmons.
He married Rixene J. Lynn on September 20, 1997 in East Alton, IL, She survives.
Scott was a 1982 graduate of East Alton Wood River High School. He was a route salesman for a snack food company. He enjoyed politics, traveling, gambling, reading and shooting firearms, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, family and friends.
In addition to his wife of Alton and his parents of Bethalto, he is survived by a brother, and his wife, Steve and Debbie Simmons of Godfrey; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Lynn of Wood River and Leeann Lynn of Alton; his father-in-law, Rich Lynn of Wood River; his nieces and nephews, Mike and Tony Caldwell, Bethany and Brie Chappel and Mike, Tiffany and Amanda Greer and numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Teena (Parker) Lynn.
Visitation will be from 2 until a remembrance service at 5:30 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
