Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Rardin, age 95, of Fieldon, IL formerly of Martinsville, IL passed away at 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in Jerseyville Nursing Home and Rehab in Jerseyville, IL.  She was born October 14, 1928 in Cairo, IL, the daughter of Ernie Elmer Lee and Bessie Margaret (Martin) Lee. On November 25, 1967she married Joseph Calvin Rardin in Grafton, IL.  They shared 48 years of marriage when he passed away on July 2, 2015. 

Survivors include her children, Kathy Plummer (Michael) of Fieldon, IL; Maggie Dill of Martinsville, IL and Michael Rardin (Karen) of Martinsville, IL; seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Norma Hallstead; sons, Patrick C. Rardin and Hoyt Franklin Ray; daughters, Ann Nash and Donna Klein; sons in law, Paul Nash and Rod Dill; grandchildren, Barry Nash, Nicole Dill, Tony Klein and Ryan Klein and great grandson, Aaron Teague.

Betty was a 1946 graduate of Grafton High School.  She worked with her dad for many years in the local fish market in Grafton, IL.  Betty was a longtime member of Bluegrass Church in Martinsville, IL.  Betty has enjoyed living with her daughter Kathy in Fieldon, IL for the past 5 years where she faithfully attended the Jerseyville United Methodist Church.  Before her eyesight failed, Betty enjoyed playing cards and reading books and was one of the last surviving members of the Ever Ready Club.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hollensbe officiating.  Burial will be in Bluegrass Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 – 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon prior to the service at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
