
Jacqueline K. Sims, 80, of Bethalto, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Alton Memorial Rehab.
She was born in Decatur, Illinois, on August 5, 1944, the daughter of Samuel F. and Ella Gertrude (Miller) Doolen. She married Steven Sims on February 19, 1966. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2025.
Jacqueline had a long career at Bethalto National Bank working her way to branch manager before her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary. She had an artistic talent and loved doing crafts and making jewelry. Jacqueline enjoyed working with her husband, Steve, at the Bethalto K of C Hall for many years post retirement. Both Jacque and her husband enjoyed spending hours every spring planting her numerous flower gardens. She also loved to travel with family and friends but enjoyed visiting her son in Charlotte the most.
She is survived by her children, Sheri (Greg) Frazier of Maryville, Steve Sims of Bethalto, and Peter Sims of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Jake Sims, Ella Sims, Michael (Rachel) Frazier, Ryan (Katie) Frazier, and Jaime Armstrong; eight great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Steve, she was preceded in death by her sisters Judy Kuethe, Janet Doty, Nancie (Tom) Dover, Donna Meredith and brother Dennis (Virginia) Doolen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 9:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, with Father Tom Liebler as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Alzheimer's Association.
