Judy Miller

Judy Miller, 83, passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. 

She was born on March 17, 1941, in Albion, Illinois, the daughter of the late Jay and Francis (Denbo) Walker. She married Ronald M. Miller on November 12, 1957, in Albion, and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2021.

Survivors include her children: Tammy (Tony) Zeller of East Alton, Terri  Morey of Alton, Tracey Aurelio of Tampa, Florida, Tim (Christy) Miller of Fenton, Missouri, six grandchildren: Chris (Jenny) Zeller, Nathan (Lindsey) Zeller, Tonya (Kyle) Surovec, Rachel (Kenny) Balsitis, Maddie Miller, Alexis Miller, seven great grandchildren: Brendan, Logan, Donovan, Zoey, Zara, Dylan, Nolyn, Kam, two sisters: Charlotte Mason of Effingham, Illinois, Karen Vallette of Equality, Illinois, and many other extended family and friends.

Judy was employed for over fifteen years as a lunch monitor, playground monitor, and retired as a bus driver for Roxana Community School District #1. She was an avid sports fan, loved the St. Louis Cardinals, going to her grandkids sporting events, bird watching and her flowers. She loved to cook and loved the Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Patty Carlson, and a grandson-in-law: John Surovec.

In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
