June Coontz, 92, passed away at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Bethalto Care Center.
Born June 1, 1923 in Marissa, Ill., she was the daughter of Adolphus Loren and Emma Roberta (Meng) Anglin.
She married Frank Coontz July 17, 1942 in Wood River. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Caren and Larry Wieneke of Moro; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Brown; a great-granddaughter, Peyton Brooke Brown; and 2 sisters, Lorene Barnes of Georgia and Janice Lanzerotte of Godfrey.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Evelyn Stamm.
Services and burial at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey will be private.
