Steven Ray Vickrey, 70, of Alton, passed away on Wednesday May 28, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 21, 1954, in St Louis, Mo, the son of the late Jack and Wanda (Vaughn) Vickrey.
Steven was a lifelong resident of Alton, Il, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army and later retired from the water treatment plant in St. Louis, MO. Steven was a passionate Harley-Davidson enthusiast, who spent much of his life riding across the United States, embracing the freedom and open road.
He is survived by his mother Wanda Vickrey of Kansas City, MO; brother Keith Vickrey of Alton, IL; sister Stacy (Steve) Hudson of Kansas City, MO; five nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Jack “Don” Vickrey; brother Scott W. Vickrey.
No serviced are scheduled with a private inurnment at Brighton Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alton VFW Post 1308.
Cremation rites have been accorded and entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
