About this event

Join the Piasa Palisades Sierra Club on November 10th at the Old Bakery Beer Company, where Melissa Schindler will discuss Bioindication: Amplifying Wildlife’s Voice.

The talk will include an introduction to bioindication, including its definition, importance, and history throughout the public and scientific community. She will discuss her journey in ecology and bioindication both in community science and her professional career. Specific examples will be included of her work and other research on indicator species and their role in ecology and conservation. The wrap-up will dive into the need and importance of community science and highlight ways the public can participate.
