J.W. Medling Jr (Junior) born May 17,1956 to the late Ruthie (Smith) Medling Joiner and J.W. Medling SR. Of Arkansas, passed away quietly surrounded by family January 13, 2024, at the Calhoun Nursing Center.
In 1976 Junior met and married Cynthia Patton and together they had 3 kids. Nikea (David) Presley of Cottage Hills Il, Brandon (Shirley) Medling of Batchtown Il, and Cassie Medling of Alton il. Although their marriage only lasted 13 years, they remained close friends, raising their kids together.
Junior had 9 grandkids and 2 great grandkids that he loved dearly. Junior is also survived by 3 sisters Pam Medling of Flint MI, Angela (Steve) Hudgins of San Antonio TX, and Linda Freer of Athens Il. 1 brother Tony (lena) Robeen of Eldred Il. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents J.W. and Phyllis Medling of Eldred Il, his mom Ruthie (Smith) Joiner of Escatawpaw MS,2 brothers Aaron Robeen and Randy Robeen both of Eldred Il.
Junior was born and raised in Arkansas, later leaving with his dad to help with their concrete company. A career that he dearly loved and was still doing up to the day he passed as a Mechanic at Hardin Ready Mix.
In his free time he loved to play pool, go fishing, play solitaire and watching westerns. He also loved watching college football and watching the Calhoun Warriors football team, especially when one of his grandsons was playing.
Junior was a good man, a hard worker, and the best dad and grandpa. He is so loved and will be dearly missed always.
