Betty L. Palmer, 88, passed away April 11, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born August 25, 1936 in Nebo, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Sadie (Sidwell) Gant.
Betty had been a box maker for Owens-IL Glass for 29 years, the worked for Mel's Donut Shop in Edwardsville for 18 years before retiring.
On July 11. 1968 in East Alton, she married Melvin N. Palmer. He died May 9, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Melvin Palmer of Wood River; step-daughter, Regina Feezel of Wood River; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-son, Nile Palmer; and two brothers, Otto and Dewy Gant.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Thursday, April 17 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Alfred Daves will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
